Earlier, an additional 25 percent tariff was imposed on India by US President Donald Trump, bringing the total tariff burden on Indian exports to 50 percent, effective August 27. On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a notification, confirming that India would receive no relief from these tariffs.
